On the occasion of the announcement of the winner of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction, the department of Arabic Language and Culture and ACMES organise an annual literary discussion evening (NADWA).

The International Prize for Arabic Fiction 2026 will be announced in Abu Dhabi on 9 April. In Amsterdam, a panel of modern Arabic literature lovers will discuss the shortlisted novels. The evening is moderated by Caroline Roset, teacher of Arabic at the UvA. There will be a short live video call with Abu Dhabi about the winner.

This meeting is open to anyone interested in contemporary Arabic literature. The working language is a mix of Dutch and English. Registration is not required.
