Between 10 September and 10 December 2015 the fourth ACMES Lecture Series will take place. Everyone with an interest in the Middle East, North Africa, and/or Islam is warmly invited to attend.
This year's opening lecture will be delivered by Farid Boussaid. He will discuss the resilience of Middle Eastern regimes and their survival strategies in the light of the wave of protest and conflict witnessed by North Africa and the Middle East since December 2010. Other lecturers, from various (inter)national universities, will discuss a variety of topics - ranging from modern Arabic literature to polemics on Islam in early modern Europe, and from Omani politics to citizenship studies, to name but a few.
