On 29 April, ACMES organised a literary discussion meeting where the winner of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction (IPAF) 2014 was announced.
Since its launch in 2007, the International Prize for Arabic Fiction (IPAF) has gained importance. Founded in order to encourage recognition of high quality Arabic fiction, the organisations aims to increase international readership through translation. This February, a shortlist of this year's nominees was published. Like last year, ACMES organised a literary nadwa, a debate, in honour of this year's awards ceremony on 29 April. An ACMES panel discussed the selected novels, debating themes, literary quality, and societal impact. For a full report of the meeting, follow the link below.
